Mathematics Department "Giuseppe Peano", University of Turin, Italy. The Department is renowned for its work in differential Geometry, Complex Geometry and Lie Groups. In particular: Hermitian structures, contact, hyperhermitians, symplectics on Lie groups and their compact quotients; cohomological properties of the varieties most complex; special metrics on complex manifolds. The work of the Department is directed towards European projects and collaborations, and includes applications of mathematics in technology development, societal sciences and natural sciences. The main contact, Prof. A. Fino is the supervisor of courses in post-graduate mathematics, with research focus on complex manifolds, Hamiltonian flows and Higher-dimension symmetry.

IMT Bucharest. National Institute for Research and Development in Microtechnologies. Since 2005, IMT includes an autonomous Centre for Technology Transfer in Microengineering (CTT-Baneasa), and in June 2006, a Science and Technology Park for Micro- and Nanotechnologies (MINATECH-RO) was set-up by a consortium with just two partners: IMT (housing most of the park area), and University “Politehnica” of Bucharest. IMT became visible at the national level, especially by coordinating various projects financed from the National Programme ATNANTECH (New Materials, Micro and Nanotechnologies) (2001-2006). Between 2003 and 2009 IMT was involved in approximately European 25 projects (FP6, FP7 and related). IMT houses a European Centre of Excellence financed by the EC (2008-2011) the first one after Romania became a EU member.

The University of Uppsala, Biomedical Centre, Uppsala, Sweden. Protein Folding Laboratory. The resource for protein folding at the Biomedical Centre, Uppsala University, Sweden is part of the program for Computational and Systems Biology at the Department for Cell and Molecular Biology.

Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences Activities span from genes and molecules to biodiversity, animal health, bioenergy and food supply. Urban and regional planning, sustainable urban and rural development and global issues such as climate change are also on the agenda. The work at SLU is about how biological natural resources from forests, soil and water can be used without exhausting them and while preserving welfare for humans and animals alike.

The University of Padova, Italy. Department of Agronomy, Food, Natural resources, Animals and Environment (DAFNAE) Viale dell'Università 16, 35020 Legnaro. DAFNAEs work is to combine innovative teaching approaches and cutting-edge research thanks to its new laboratories and experimental farm at Agripolis, a modern campus university dedicated to research and teaching at an excellent level. The mission of the DAFNAE is to promote the competitiveness of the agri-food sector, and the sustainable use of natural resources through the biotic and abiotic production and dissemination of knowledge on the management and improvement of plants, animals, soil and microorganisms.
